Men Who Will Stand for the Right: Ben Carson

 by Tom King

Dr. Ben Carson
We were told more than a hundred years ago that we would stand before kings and princes to speak the truth.  Yesterday I saw an Adventist man do one of the gutsiest things I've ever seen.  He will likely get a lot of hate mail from it. He risked his career by saying it, but what he said had the unmistakable ring of truth.

Ben Carson, Adventist Doctor, head of pediatric neurology at Johns Hopkins University and gifted surgeon stood five feet from the president of the United States yesterday morning and with grace and tact challenged that president at virtually every point of his agenda for America.

He spoke for education as it should be done.  He spoke out against our nation's debt.  He offered a workable health care plan that would actually work.  He defended Christian values and spoke out against the stultification of thought that is the fruit of our obsession with political correctness.

The video of his speech has gone viral. Millions of Americans have cheered his speech and said, "Finally, someone who will speak truth to power when it really matters."  We stand on the brink of the end of the world. As Adventists we are often tempted to stand aside and let it happen.  But we are not allowed that option as believers.  We are, as Ellen White counseled, "to stand for the right though the heavens fall."
